What is Pathways to Wholy Living?
The Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference is pleased to provide you for your journey
to well-being Pathways to WHoly Living.
The tree in the logo above is a symbol of life and health; only healthy trees bear fruit. It harkens
back to the Garden of Eden, a time when humans lived in perfect harmony with God, the world
and themselves.
The swirling branches on the tree indicate our relational nature; we are to love one another as
we love ourselves. We love others because God first loved us.
The cross in the center reminds us of Christ’s redemptive act to restore fallen humanity, forgiving
sins and restoring all of Creation towholeness, its original design.

The roots of the tree declare that we are grounded in Christ. There is a great deal of overlapping
lines in the drawing, speaking to the dynamic process of WHoly Living, that all the various aspects
of our life, body, mind & spirit are intertwined.

The green pathway speaks of the journey of life. The smaller pathway hints at the individual
journey we all take as part of the larger journey. Wherever we are in our walk of life, even if we
have lost our way, we can step back onto the path to wholeness that God intends for everyone.
journey we all take as part of the larger journey. Wherever we are in our walk of life, even if we
have lost our way, we can step back onto the path to wholeness that God intends for everyone.
The word WHoly is intentionally spelled that way, reminding us that wholistic health involves
body, mind and spirit, our environment, and our relationships. It addresses our spiritual nature,
that God in Christ through the Holy Spirit is making us holy, even as God is holy.

The word Pathways indicates that there are various strategies or methods to achieving health
and wholeness and holiness.
