In order to begin our relationship with our Zimbabwean sisters and brothers, we in the Franklin District are committing to the challenge of giving financial and prayerful support to a critical project in the Makoni-Buhera District in the Zimbabwe East Annual Conference. The project that we are supporting as a district is described below.

The need for teacher’s housing is critical. Currently, many teachers commute from either Mutare or Rusape each day. And, several teachers walk several miles each day. There is currently one teacher’s house on-site that accommodates five families.

 

The Clare United Methodist School is a central ministry for the United Methodist Church in Zimbabwe. The school continues to do much with very little in the way of resources. 

 

Write checks for these projects payable to WPAUMC (write “Franklin Dist. for Zimbabwe projects" on the memo line).

-Please be sure to date all documents so that church/charge and pastoral files can be maintained in good order.

-Identify the church/charge on all documents including the name of the town. There are multiple churches with the name "First", "Trinity", "Grace", etc. Use "Franklin First UMC", "Oil City Trinity UMC", "Clintonville Grace UMC", etc.
